Kerosene Drifters Album Release Show w/ J.R. Castillo

November 30, 2022|7:00 pm-10:30 pm

Description

Rooted in rock + a love affair with blues and country, Kerosene Drifters shine light to a growing movement of blended music in Texas they call Drifter Rock.  Led by husband and wife team Korey and Dana, the music of KD encapsulates heartfelt lyrics, soulful melodies, epic arrangements and blood harmonies.  Utilizing a dense mix for their second album of acoustic and electric guitars, piano, organ, cello, bass and drums creates everything from a monumental wall of sound to spacious and eerie ballads.  Having two lead vocalists allows for a wide range of sonic possibilities that make up the unique sound of Kerosene Drifters. With one album under their belt in 2017, singles “Redemption”, “Bad Mojo”, “Oh Gloria” and “Give In to Me (feat. J.R. Castillo)” from their full length sophomore album have been released with international airplay and charting.  Joined by co-producer and Nashville recording artist J.R. Castillo, Kerosene Drifters collaborated for album #2 in songwriting with Lee Wenner and in the studio with cellist Jen Mulhern of Jenuine Cello at Cibolo Studios in San Antonio, TX.  Stuart Sullivan of Wire Recording (Sublime, Jimmie Vaughan, Butthole Surfers) worked his mixing magic and Terra Nova Mastering finished up the project. Kerosene Drifters have shared the stage with Reckless Kelly and Micky & the Motorcars, along with national airplay on REELZ channel for their music video “Barb’s Wired”.  The couple have made numerous television and radio appearances, along with physical and online interviews.  When they’re not traveling doing what they love, they are home hanging with their animals, cooking, enjoy being in nature, supporting fellow musicians and drinking good tequila. About Nashville Recording Artist J.R. Castillo Over the last 15 years—through his formative years, his time at the University of Texas, and up to the present day—Castillo has written over a thousand songs for himself and other artists, 25 percent of which are in Spanish. His songwriting strays from that of many other artists, as his music is often more specific and personal than other artists’ music. His latest single, “The Flip Side of Sober,” was released on July 4, and is apart of a full CD release entitled The Hombre that Castillo expects to be released in late September. Other songs on the 16-track album include the classic Leo Sayer hit, “More Than I Can Say” (one of his mother’s favorites), and unofficial Texas High School football anthem, “Any Given Friday.” Doors at 7:00pm Show at 8:00pm TICKETS: Advance GA $12.00/ Day Of Show GA $16.00 / Reserved Booths $50.00 (admission not included) LIMITED SEATED SHOW - Expect to Stand - NO Seating GUARANTEED.
