Apollo presents 'Music of Exile', a cross-cultural, millennia-spanning program of diasporic new music inspired by composers seeking to illuminate our individual and shared histories.
In Apollo style, we present newly commissioned music by Syrian-American composer Malek Jandali, Israel-born composer Gilad Cohen, and the *world premiere* of "Distant Shores" by Rice University faculty composer Richard Lavenda with special guest bassoonist Benjamin Kamins.
Venezuelan virtuoso violinist Eddy Marcano joins Apollo for an exploration of his country’s vibrant folk music traditions.
