Before the week was out, Nashville's pressing plants were shipping singles to stores as quickly as they could produce them, and the following week, on August 24, the song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 81. The next week, the song jumped all the way to No. 7, the biggest one-week leap in the pop chart’s history.
